Last Saturday 1300 cyclists turned up in the town of Middleton to take part in the second annual Stephen Roche Tour de Cure . Twenty three years ago Roche placed himself firmly in the History books of cycling . Here are a few examples of just how he managed to become the only man other than Eddy Merckx to win the Giro , the Tour and the World championships all in one remarkable year .
